How to update Galaxy S2 with CARBON Android 4.3 Custom ROM

Samsung is deliberately launching, updating its smartphones these days. In last two days, they have launched one smartphone Galaxy Trend and have updated Grand Duos to Android 4.2.2 platform. Moving on now one third party have revealed Android 4.3 Jellybean ROM update for Samsung Galaxy S2. This ROM is developed for S2 model number i9100 only. So please don’t dare/think to try it on other models. The best thing about this ROM is its base. It is based on Android 4.3 Jellybean OS which is currently the latest OS that we have right now (although Android 4.4 KitKat is the latest OS but that is not there in any device).

This combined ROM is named as CARBON and I am going to refer it with the same name in coming lines. It comes in integration with Google Apps package which ensures latest services from Google. Latest services further includes latest versions of Google+, Gmail, Google Now etc. means you don’t need to worry about updating them. Till now I have seen Android 4.2 JB updates for Galaxy S2. So it will be a nice variation which will let S2 users taste all latest JB features. Android 4.3 will give you better management with improved level of smoothness and high end transitions. Also there will be some nice modifications in UI that includes better notifications, quick settings etc.

On the pre-requisites end, you need to root your Galaxy S2 prior to applying this custom ROM. Also please note that neither me, nor Samsung hold the responsibility of any kind of internal damages with your S2. It comes from third party sources and you should try it on your own risk/responsibility. You can lower the risk chances by following these pre-requisites. Please follow each and every step carefully. Don’t forget to enable USB as Debugging mode in your smartphone.

How to

1. Download CARBON ROM and GApps to computer and move both to mobile’s sd card.
2. Now you need to perform simple flashing tutorial that is valid with all the custom packages. You can get complete details from here.

Here you need to boot to recovery mode. For Galaxy S2, there are two ways of doing that:
• Download ROM Manager App from Play Store. Install that and select Recovery Boot option.
• Turn OFF your S2. Press and hold Vol. Up + Home + Power keys till the Galaxy S2 is booted to recovery mode. You will get recovery mode notification once you will be there with proper combination.

This is how you can install CRABON ROM on your Galaxy S2.
