Karbonn A99, A16 and A12+ complete features, price and availability

ADVERTISMENTS

Karbonn has launched three new low end smartphones today. Very surprisingly they have launched all the three phones with a very narrow price tag difference. Reasons of this price clashing are completely unknown as most of the smartphones matches with complete specs almost. The three phones launched by Karbonn are:
• Karbonn A99
• Karbonn A16
• Karbonn A12+

All the phones are tagged to Rs. 5,000-6,000 price tags. These can be great option for all entry level smartphone seekers. All the phones carry some particular powerful specs that are really world class and not expected at this price tag. But according to me they don’t need 3 different smartphones for such regular specs. Now in coming discussion you will find that these phones clashes in most of the specs which is not a good thing from not company as well as customer’s point of view.

Karbonn A99 Specs

It is the first phone among the set of three. It comes with a 3.97~4 inch display with 480x800 pixels resolution support. Usual capacitive touch system is there. It runs on Android 4.2 Jellybean OS. Karbonn’s biggest competitor MMX has also announced one Android 4.2 Jellybean smartphone MMX A58 Bolt today. Dual core 1.3 GHz processor with 512 MB RAM is also there which manages all the tasks with a decent speed. From OS and processor’s view, it is pretty similar to Bolt A58.

Dual SIM with Dual Standby option is there. Its internal memory is 4 GB (complete) which can be expanded to 32 GB easily. Its rear camera occupies 5 MP lens with LED flashlight system whereas VGA front facing camera provides an option for having video chat sessions smoothly.

All the usual connectivity tools are there that provides nice and effective connectivity facility. It equips a 1400 mAh battery whose backup is not unveiled by the company. But I think it will deliver somewhere around 4-5 hours talk time and 500 hours standby time.

Price: Rs. 6,190

Karbonn A16 Specs

It matches with A99 in most of the specs. Here I am listing only those specifications that differ from above version. These are:
• 3.90 inch screen
• MediaTek processor with same configuration
• 1350 mAh battery
Rest all specs are exact similar.

Price: Rs. 5,990. For Rs. 200 more you will get a bigger screen with better battery (A99). According to me there is on meaning of launching A16 when A99 is already there with better specs and better price value.

Karbonn A12+ Specs

It seems to be the strongest device among all 3 phones. Its features are almost similar to above two phones. The different features include:
• 1400 mAh battery
• 1.24 GB user accessible ROM
Price: Rs. 5,199

So from the above discussion you might figure out that all the phones are replica of each other (almost). Almost negligible differences are there in Karbonn A99 and A12+. According to me A12+ is the best phone among these phones.
