Manual XXUBMI1 Android 4.2.2 Official update for Samsung Galaxy Grand


If you own a Samsung Galaxy GRAND I9082 then you can update it with one Odin capable Android 4.2.2 Jellybean ROM easily. The ROM which I am going to discuss here is based on XXUBMI1 firmware which is an official firmware and is available through OTA guide (in selected countries and regions only). In case this official firmware is available in your area through OTA update then please download and install it by following the simple on screen guide. But in case this update is not rolled in your area then you can manually apply this OTA firmware through the process that I am going to describe here.

AS it is based on official source so you can expect some high quality features from this update. This upgrade will bring more stability and simplicity to your Galaxy Grand. You will find fewer latches, bugs after installing this update. It mainly targets on RAM consumption which was there with first official ROM update for Galaxy Grand (released during September 2013). RAM consumption will provide you better multi-tasking and enhanced overall speed experience. All in all you are going to love each and every single part of this ROM for Galaxy Grand. But please try it on your Grand if it is built on I9082 model. In other models, this ROM might induce some more bugs which can make your smartphone complete un-responsive and weird.

Main Process

Follow these pre-requisites to your level best. Now follow these steps:
1. Download the XXUBMI1 package to your computer.
2. Now follow these instructions.

I have arranged step by step procedure about Odin tool in these instructions. You will also see one Odin download link there. Please download Odin from there and follow the entire steps carefully. During these steps, you will have to boot your Galaxy Grand to Download Mode. In general cases there are 2 ways to do it. These are:

• Switch OFF Grand. Press and hold the combination: Vol. Down + Home + Power key till it gets booted to download mode.

• Download ROM manager App from Play Store. Install it and select Download Boot option.

After completing the upgrade process please reboot your mobile and visit the Settings>>More>>About Phone menu and check for system version. It should so Android 4.2.2 Jellybean with XXUBMI1 baseband there. In case no such details are there then please follow the entire procedure once again. This process will get successful only when you will see such information in the given setting’s menu.
