Few days back I published one report about increasing number of voice enabled tablets in India. I still remember 2012 when I was collecting stuff about top 5 voice enabled tablets in India but sadly I end up with the list of 4 only. This scenario has changed drastically today. Now you can even list 10 tablets with such capabilities. Don’t know whether by seeing festive season or some other reason, electronic companies are focusing on voice calling tablets now. In last few months several companies has played their move in this particular niche.

One thing is interesting to note here. All the companies are pricing their tablet around similar tags. As the price tags are similar so we can’t expect them to feature different specifications. It is a sad thing from customers’ perspective as they can’t decide which one is best and why. In this strategy, the company with best reputation wins over other companies.

Now Simmtronics has launched one new tablet called Simmtronics XPAD. Simmtronics is not a new name in tablet world. They are there with lots of unique machines which merges the difference between a smart tablet and fully furnished laptops. It is a 7.8 inch tablet that works at 1024x768 pixels resolution. It is a fully enriched machine in terms of software. It operates on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean interface with the power of a quad core CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz frequency and 1 GB RAM pairing.

It is a dual camera tablet with 5 MP lens on rear and 2 MP lens on front side. It supports 8 GB ROM which stores enough data. But you can still increase it to 32 GB. No comes its most interesting thing. It comes with dual SIM support having GSM+GSM variants. You can manage voice calls through these SIM. You can also use them to access internet with different carriers. It equips 5,000 mAh battery that provides 5 hours web browsing backup. You can play videos up to 6 hours with this battery.

Officials have pre-loaded this tablet with lots of quality aps like Skype, YouTube, document reader etc. You can use 3G+2G SIMs as well.

Simmtronics XPAD is launched for Rs. 13,999 tag. The same price tag is used by company like Micromax (for their Canvas talet). It would be an interesting fight among various companies that have showcased/launched voice calling tablets for this festive season. It is the high time or all of them to come with some attractive offers (price cuts or gift vouchers). According to me this tablet is slightly over-priced but it will provide a good option among all dual core tablets.
