Official specs and price of Micromax Bolt A59 and Micromax Bolt A28

Micromax has planned everything for making a grand entry in year 2014. There are rumours about Canvas Smartphones getting Android KitKat update this January and now MMX has unveiled two new entry level Android smartphones in India. In 2014 MMX may get global with new ventures and targets. But for now they have launched Micromax Bolt A59 and Bolt A28. Both the smartphones are wrapped with basic level specs that are already there inside most of the MMX gadgets. There is still a question that what is the need of coming up with new smartphones with usual repeated specs. But let us hope it will benefit MMX in a positive manner. Nevertheless it provides entry level mobile seekers additional offers to choose from.

Micromax Bolt A59 Features

It is a basic phone with 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen having 320x480 pixels resolution and Dual SIM Dual Standby capabilities. It runs on Android 4.1 Jellybean OS in corporation with Spreadtrum SC7710 single core processor having 1 GHz clocking system, 256 MB RAM and Mali 300 GPU acceleration. 256 MB RAM with single core system creates some doubts about its lifetime. I have used one very similar MMX smartphone with similar RAM and processor but sadly that lasted well for 5-6 months only. After 5-6 months that phone started giving glitches in most of the operations and sometimes I had to wait for 3-4 well minutes for launching any normal weighted app.

It occupies a 2MP rear LED and VGA front facing camera. Its internal memory is limited to 512 MB only but you can expand it up to 16 GB with SD card. It is a 2G phone with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. 1500 mAh battery system is also there that can charge it for 4-5 continuous hours.

Micromax Bolt A28 Features

It can be considered as the basic version of Bolt A59. It comes with similar screen, SIMs, connectivity, memory and battery specs. It equips a Cortex A5 processor chip (old version) with 1 GHz clocking and Mali 300 GPU. VGA front and rear cameras are there. Worst thing about this phone is its OS. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS which is completely out-dated now. Friends I would suggest you not to go for this phone because of its very average specs. Please increase your budget and go for some other Micromax smartphone that comes with minimum dual core processor.

Price and Availability

Both the MMX phones are listed on online stores with Coming Soon tag. No details about price are disclosed yet. MMX Bolt A59 is available in Grey color whereas MMX Bolt A28 is listed with Black color.
