Android 4.4.2 KitKat ROM for Samsung Galaxy Note N7000


Samsung Galaxy team + users must be very happy these days as they are receiving timely gifts from custom ROM developers. After approaching the high end flagships, now custom developers have switched their focus to medium level Galaxy smartphones. As there first attempt they have developed Android 4.4.2 KitKat ROM for Samsung Galaxy Note N7000. This ROM is released by Slim Saber team.

As the name implies, it will be a light weighted ROM with improvements in almost entire specification set of the Galaxy Note. After installing this ROM in your Note you will experience a new UI with plethora of positive improvements and speed tweaks. Sadly Samsung has unveiled no details about when it will come up with official KitKat ROM for Galaxy Note smartphone but till then you can rejoice with this custom built ROM. It will also make you familiar with the concept of Android KitKat platform so that you will not face any major issues while Samsung will roll official KitKat for Note series.

Android KitKat for Galaxy Note N7000

As discussed earlier it is a custom ROM so it requires you to have a rooted Galaxy Note smartphone. If you try it on an un-rooted smartphone then it will lead you to problems and problems only. So please root your smartphone properly before trying this tutorial. Also flash some custom Recovery (CWM) for making the entire process error free and legit. So once you are done with rooting and installing custom Recovery on your smartphone, you can head to following steps:

1. Check these pre-requisites.
2. Download KitKat file and GApps to your computer.
3. Now take USB cable and move both the files to SD card of Note Smartphone.
4. Boot to Recovery (instructions given later).
5. Follow these instructions.

Recovery Booting

• Switch OFF Note smartphone.
• Press and hold Vol. Up + Menu keys together.
• While holding this combination, press POWER key till you get booted to Recovery mode.
• You can also take help from Play Store Apps like ROM Manager, QuickBoot etc

I hope all the things are clear now. Once you have followed all the instructions in Recovery Mode, please reboot your phone and head over to settings>>About Phone menu. Check for Firmware version there. This process will be accepted only if it shows Android 4.4.2 KitKat version there. In any other case please take you time and repeat the entire procedure once again (with better accuracy).
