Nokia Normandy Specs and Availability: first Android smartphone by Nokia

ADVERTISMENTS

Nokia is all start to begin its journey in Android niche. At one stage we all were assuming Nokia’s first Android smartphone to be called as Nokia X but latest listing shows that it will be called as Nokia Normandy. It is listed on a Vietnamese retailer with Normandy codename. It must be a codename for first Android smartphone from Nokia. Nokia was expected to try something new in Android market (it was seen as their last hope) and with Normandy they have exactly done the same. They are using latest Android iteration in their smartphone which will surely attract lots of eye balls towards it.

Official Specifications of Nokia Normandy

A report about Normandy Specs is published by WMPoweruser portal. They have listed all its specs with complete depth. According to them it will house a 4 inch FWVGA screen. No confirmation about its resolution is revealed but frankly speaking then it seems to be a low rated screen with very average screen quality. It will run on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. It is one of the top rated features of this upcoming Nokia Android smartphone. The image (which I have mentioned above) shows a Windows Tiled surface so it somewhere contradicts the Android OS. Let us wait and watch what Nokia will actually embed in their upcoming smartphone.

It is powered by a 1GHz dual core processor with 512 MB RAM. 512 MB RAM is not sufficient for a smartphone these days. Company should have stuffed at least 1 GB RAM inside this upcoming machine. It spots 5 MP AF rear camera with no flashing unit. It is again a disappointing factor for all the users. Nokia is going to use Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor chip with dedicated Adreno 302 GPU. It seems to be a nice combination but still 512 MB RAM is something that will disappoint most of the times (especially while using heavy apps).

According to report, it will house 4 GB internal memory that can be expanded 32 GB via microSD card easily. All ideal and required connectivity specs are added inside this smartphone. It is equipped with Li-ion battery whose mAh is not disclosed yet. It might come with Play Store, Google Now etc integrations/extensions.

Price and availability

Sadly no sure details about this section are revealed by both Nokia as well as Vietnamese online retailer. We will update these details once they will be made public.
