I9500XXUFNB3 Android 4.4.2 KitKat for Samsung Galaxy S4

ADVERTISMENTS

We have earlier reported that Samsung is likely to release Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for most of its Galaxy devices. Now the rumour/leak is going to on right track. Samsung has released official I9500XXUFNB3 built Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Galaxy S4 smartphone. They have started their long journey with the current flagship and I hope in future they will continue to make efforts towards bringing latest software iteration to most of their Galaxy gadgets.

According to Sam Mobiles, this report is rolled out for Russian users only (as first phase). There it is available for 3G Exynos Galaxy S4 variant with model GT-I9500. So if your phone comes with such specifications then it might be a good news for you. In case you are using LTE Snapdragon variant then please don’t worry, you will too receive official KitKat update in coming days.

Features

The best thing about KitKat is its surface. Along with new UI it also extends the support towards wireless printing, emoji icons, message enhancing and lot more. With this update you will see a new color in your status bar icons (white color, which was green previously). Samsung has made few improvements to keyboard when used in landscape mode. It will give you better results in horizontal resolution. This new update also brings a camera lock shortcut button which locks camera instantly. You are going to love it provided you are a big camera fond and use to capture lot of pictures. There are some tweaks for music section too, which ensures full screen operations with better clarity. In short Samsung has tried to address various sectors with this KitKat update.

How To

In Russia, you can update your Galaxy S4 (model is given above) through usual OTA method. It should cover whole Russia in a week or less. You can also use Samsung Kies tool for installing this latest iteration inside your smartphone. LTE users might have to wait for some more weeks.

Talking about rest of the world then it will take some months to reach out to various countries (it might take few weeks too, which will depend upon the location). Indian customers has recently enjoyed the treat of Android 4.3 Jellybean update for Galaxy S4 so they will have to wait for couple of months (or more) for having it live on their smartphones. If there will be any manual method (which can be applied instantly) then I will surely come up with a detailed guide about that.
