Sony has launched with Xperia Z series smartphones and tablet with Android Lollipop v5.0 or even KitKat based operating system. But recently they has officially announced that, new software has been updates on the official website which you can download from it and upgrade your operating system version to Lollipop v5.1.1. Sony has updates the software for upgrading the OS version but currently this software is only available for few models of Xperia Z series handset not for all handset of Z series. This software is currently available for smartphones with model number Xperia Z C6603, Xperia Z C6603, while for Xperia ZL smartphone with model number C5503 and for Xperia ZR smartphones with model number SGP311. It is also available for Xperia Table Z handset with model number SGP312 Wi-Fi only and SGP321 Tablet Z with LTE network technology only. No other Xperia Z series smartphone will be upgraded by using this software. So before updating your device, you must have to check model number of the device because if your handset model number doesn’t’ match with above mention model number then your smartphone will not be updated.

What to do before updating?

If your handset model matches with above mention model number then you have to follow these two necessary steps before starting the upgrading process:

First of all moves all the important contacts from mobile to SIM because after upgrading process all the contacts will be deleted.
Second one you have to move all data like images, videos, audios and other necessary documents from internal storage to external SD card.

You can also download the software from the official website of the Sony and install in your PC. After installing it you have to connect your smartphone with PC via USB cable and start the upgrading process.

You can also upgrade your handset in the nest Sony Customer’s Service Station with Free of Cost if your smartphone in under warranty or has less than one year of time after purchasing the device, but at that time you have to show the hard copy of original bill and you have to give printed copy to the executive and this whole process will takes few minutes or hours.
